Ana sayfa / News

Hyundai showcased its vision for urban air mobility at CES 2024 in Las Vegas this week. Hyundai has introduced its next-generation design for electric vertical takeoff and landing ( eVTOL ) air taxi through its Supernal division . Could the Hyundai flying taxi fleet become a reality by 2028?

What does Hyundai Supernal flying taxi offer?

The Hyundai S-A2 air taxi concept can reach a range of 40 to 60 km on a single charge. It can also carry four passengers at a speed of 180 km per hour. It also aroused curiosity with its power from eight rotors that provide helicopter-like vertical take-off and landing.

This aircraft developed by Hyundai’s sub-unit Supernal; It will be part of a comprehensive mobility system that also includes vertiport and air traffic management. Hyundai’s new generation VertiPort system will enable flying taxis to take off/land easily.

The company plans to launch air taxi services in cities like Los Angeles by 2028. In the first phase, it is expected to provide a quick alternative to traffic through short journeys. Supernal is also working with regulators to integrate flying taxis into the airspace.

In his statement on the subject, Supernal President Neil Marshall said, “This is not just about developing an aircraft. It’s about developing a mobility solution. “We look at the first kilometer and the last kilometer,” he said.

According to Hyundai, the S-A2 air taxi concept will revolutionize transportation by opening the door to both silent and emission-free flights. The flying taxi concept will become a reality with a flight date of 2028.
